Prior to joining IFC, Gabriel held senior positions in Investment Banking at Rothschild and Banamex/Citibank.
Gabriel is Civil Engineer, obtained with the highest honors magna cum laude from the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico, or UNAM, and holds an MBA in corporate finance from the Instituto Panamericano de Alta Direccion de Empresa, or IPADE. He has been widely published on the subjects of Real Estate, Affordable Housing and Private Sector Development in Emerging Markets.
Gabriel is a multi-sector global banker with focal expertise in: origination and structuring of international investment transactions, especially loan, mezzanine and equity deals. Whether challenged to develop strategic business plans, manage information systems, conduct high-level contract negotiations, or build key alliances and partnerships. Gabriel has originated, structured, and placed a large number of complex investment transactions throughout the Americas, in both the local and international markets (capital and bank). He is quite knowledgeable on Environmental and Social issues, Impact Investing, as well as sales intelligence.
